War dead 1st World War: 81 / 2nd World War: 207 A massive clinker pyramid, surrounded by old oak trees, bears the names of the fallen of the 1st World War from the city of Bremerhaven. Grave slabs mark the graves of 81 soldiers who died in the military hospital during the First World War. The 191 dead from the night of the bombing on September 18, 1944, as well as six victims of National Socialist rule and ten foreign war dead rest beneath a lawn.
