Salaspils POW cemetery The cemetery of the former POW camp 277 contains around 150 war dead. The site is now located near the "Salaspils" memorial complex, which commemorates Russian and Jewish victims of the war. The war cemetery was restored by the War Graves Commission in 2008. A narrow path leads from the parking lot to the entrance of the complex. The earth wall, as an enclosure, was restored and planted with greenery. A new wooden cross was erected on the small memorial square, symbolic crosses symbolize the gravesite. The inscription on the memorial stone on the wooden cross commemorates the 146 prisoners of war buried here. The cemetery is maintained on behalf of the Volksbund by citizens of the town of Salaspils. The place is also known as "Kaiserhof".
