Towards the end of the Second World War, 354 German war dead were buried in a separate cemetery at Assistens Kirkegaard. In 1966, the War Graves Commission added 299 dead, so that 610 war dead now rest here (260 soldiers and 350 refugees). At the end of the path is a bronze high cross. In front of it, a stone plaque in German and Danish provides information about those who rest here. Granite crosses each bear two names and mark the graves.
