The history of the German military cemetery
The battles around the Metaxas Line on April 6/7, 1941 claimed a particularly large number of German soldiers in the Rupel Pass area.
While some of the fallen were immediately taken to Marinopole, others were buried in Greece (Rupel Pass; Dragotin) and only reburied in Marinopole in the fall of 1941.
According to VDK records, 353 World War II dead are buried here.
