in 1942, a burial ground for German soldiers who died in their homeland was created in the forest cemetery. Victims of the battles in spring 1945 rest on three fields. 338 graves were marked in 1994. 150 Russian, Polish, Croatian and Luxembourg war dead rest on the "United Nations Memorial". 392 Red Army casualties from the battles around Eberswalde are buried in an area directly adjacent to the cemetery.
