Total Occupation: 9 fatalities

Total Occupation: 9 fatalities

According to the information available to us, a total of 9 dead from the First World War and the National Socialist tyranny rest in this cemetery in a newly designed, well-kept communal grave diagonally to the left behind the chapel. In detail: - 1 French prisoner of war of the First World War, died in 1916. (The date of death is given as the date of birth on the name plaque. The German-sounding name casts doubt on the Moroccan nationality given in the list of graves) - 1 Polish forced laborer known by name, died in an accident in 1944, presumably in a boiler explosion in the brickworks - 1 unknown Polish forced laborer, died in 1945 and - 5 Soviet prisoners of war from the Bramburg camp (basalt quarry) identified as unknown, although their names appear in the list of graves. They had already died of illness and exhaustion in 1942. Photos: Volker Fleig 2013
