The war cemetery is located within Würzburg's main cemetery. The central point is the memorial chapel with dedication and name plaques. A relief on the outer wall commemorates the flight of the displaced persons and the dead of the lost homeland. The war cemetery is home to the dead of the First World War, victims of the bombing of Würzburg on March 16, 1945 and fallen soldiers from several towns and municipalities who were reburied by the Volksbund in 1950 and 1951 as well as from numerous field graves.
